Benczúr received his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997, since then his interest turned to Data Science. He was representing SZTAKI as principal investigator in several EU and national R&D and industrial projects. He serves on the program committees of leading conferences including WWW, WSDM, SIGKDD, ECML/PKDD. He leads the Data Industry Working Group of the Hungarian Artificial Intelligence Coalition.
