The meetup series launched by the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB) in the fall of 2023 continued. The regularly recurring event, held monthly in the afternoons, aims to provide opportunities for informal discussions and networking after several short presentations. The meetup places special emphasis on young researchers and students.
The latest meetup, held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 focused on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical imaging.
Péter Horváth, head of laboratory at the Biological Research Centre in Szeged, delivered a presentation at the event. László Szécsi, associate professor at the Department of Control Engineering and Information Technology at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, also gave a talk titled "Surgical Planning in Virtual Reality."
Béla Weiss, research fellow at the Machine Perception Research Laboratory of HUN-REN SZTAKI, also presented at the meetup, with a talk titled "Artificial Intelligence Methods for Quality Control and Harmonization of Brain Imaging Data."
