With the collaboration of MILAB, Datarebit, and their partners, the Genesis Project was presented, along with its first result: Neural Nocturne, a fusion piece created through the synergy of artificial intelligence and composer-pianist Carlos Gallardo Riballo.
MILAB and Datarebit Kft. were invited to the Futuraescena forum, organized by the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts, which took place from January 28 to 30, 2025, at the Matadero Cultural Center in Madrid. The event aimed to provide a platform for performing artists, researchers, educators, and other professionals to connect and engage in discussions about the present and future of performing arts, with a special focus on the integration of new technologies in the field.
Technology Players and Their Art
On the second day, a dedicated session explored the impact of technology, particularly digital tools and artificial intelligence, on the performing arts. Participants discussed the artistic applications of technological innovations and the challenges they present.
Carlos Gallardo Riballo, academic and expert on the Genesis Project, had the opportunity to speak about the project's origins, its key contributors, and future possibilities. Following his presentation, the audience experienced a live performance of Neural Nocturne, which exceeded all expectations. The piece was praised for its remarkable complexity, its authentic reflection of the original composer’s style without feeling like mere replication, and its emotional depth, which resonated with many listeners.

In addition, participants explored how digital tools and artificial intelligence are reshaping the performing arts, highlighting both new opportunities and challenges. Discussions covered topics such as the use of virtual and augmented reality in theater and dance, the role of digital platforms in performance distribution, and the new forms of artistic expression enabled by technology.
The importance of integrating technological innovations into arts education and professional training was also emphasized, ensuring that future artists can harness these advancements. The forum's ultimate goal was to encourage continued dialogue between technology experts and performing artists, fostering collaborations and joint projects that enhance artistic experiences and accessibility.
