Hamdi was awarded 2nd prize with her English manuscript titled „Novel Outlier Detection Algorithm Based on Incomplete Data Handling” in the „Anomaly detection using machine learning” category. Hamdi’s work has been done in line with the MILAB project.
Fatma Hamdi has been a research student in the Intelligent Processes research group of the Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence at SZTAKI for more than a year and a half, her thesis supervisor is Dr. Viharos Zsolt János. Fatma is currently a student at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Faculty of Natural Sciences, Institute of Mathematics, she’s pursuing a BSc in Mathematics with a Data Science specialization.
Her research area in SZTAKI is outlier detection, in 2021, she won the 3rd place in the Scientific Student Associations’ Conference (TDK) at BME. Since the TDK, a new, substantially modified version of the earlier algorithm has been developed and thus submitted for the MNB-BME Research Competition and University Scholarship Application, in which BME and the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) jointly aim to encourage students to learn about and reflect on economic research dealing with the future of money and sustainability by reading state-of-the-art studies concerning the topics, and even starting their own research and formulating their own professional opinions.
