The operation of Széchenyi István University (SZE) is particularly related to R&D collaborations with internationally recognized and competitive companies, it guarantees the quality and competitiveness of all three activities of the University including education, research, and innovation.

SZE participates with the Research Center of the Vehicle Industry in the National Laboratory Program. This competence centre provides corporate partners with a state-of-the-art innovation background and contributes to the development of the University’s and entrepreneurial and sustainable competitiveness. Its mission is the coordination of innovation and R&D resources in key competence areas.

Research Center of the Vehicle Industry:

  • The Center has been established to perform researches and contribute to the development of self-driving vehicles.
  • It is a highly AI intensive area considering both the recent theoretical results and engineering experiences of AI are essential for developing reliable, safe, and efficient self-driving vehicles.
  • For the effective research and application of AI for self-driving vehicles, the latest development of mathematical modelling, mathematical optimization, systems engineering, and theory of control are essential for the successful results.
  • The four key focus areas of the Center are Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Electronics, Electronic Vehicle Powertrain, and Self-driving areas, which provide the basis for the realization of the research contribution in AI.
