On 18 October 2023, Csaba Benedek, Deputy Director of HUN-REN SZTAKI received Dr. Jake Phillips, Coordinator for Cybernetics in Central and Eastern Europe at the UK Foreign Office, and Levente Nyitrai and Krisztina Kocsis, both from the UK Embassy in Budapest.

On behalf of SZTAKI, Noémi Friedman participated in the conference, where she gave a presentation on the application of DKG and AI in the construction industry, the BUILDCHAIN ​​project, and participated in a panel discussion where the possibilities of AI in the construction industry were discussed with construction industry and DKG specialists. Pécs, October 3, 2023 - The National Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence (MILAB) employees held a working meeting at Human Reproduction in Pécs National Laboratory (HRNL) and the National Laboratory of Virology (VNL) with its leaders at the János Szentágothai Research Center of the University of Pécs (SzKK).

Between September 12th and 13th, we participated in an introductory and networking workshop aimed at providing SAAB and Ericsson's partners with an opportunity to introduce themselves and establish initial connections. SAAB is actively exploring the potential for academic collaborations in Hungary, and, as a first step, they collaborated with Ericsson Hungary to have key academic stakeholders in the fields of AI, autonomy, and transportation present their ongoing activities.

A MILAB Meetup-sorozat első, telt házas alkalmát 2023. szeptember 20-án, 17 órától tartották a HUN-REN SZTAKI Innovációs és Demonstrációs Terében. A rendszeresen, havonta egy alkalommal, délutánonként ismétlődő rendezvény célja, hogy több, rövid előadás után, lehetőséget adjon kötetlen beszélgetés keretében a kérdések megvitatására, networkingre. A meetup kiemelt figyelmet fordít a fiatal kutatókra, hallgatókra.

The Hungarian Machine Learning Meeting (Magyar Machine Learning Találkozó) provided an opportunity for Hungarian machine learning researchers working in foreign institutions to meet each other and the younger generation of Hungarian machine learning researchers and Ph.D. students. During the 3-day informal summer meeting, 17 internationally renowned researchers gave presentations, and the Hungarian young researchers presented their research in 35 posters, with many informal joint activities. Two of the speakers were professors from Cambridge University and two from Carnegie Mellon University, while other speakers came from Google, Deepmind, Huawei, Harvard University, ETH Zurich, among others.

At the VISZ INFOGOLF'23 conference, Nóra Fenyvesi, project manager of KINCSINFO and MILAB, presented the application developed within the framework of the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB), a joint project of KINCSINFO and the Rényi Institute of Mathematics (Rényi Institute), and a special software robot supported by artificial intelligence.

This year, for the first time, the Hungarian Machine Learning Meeting was organised by the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB), coordinated by SZTAKI, at the European Youth Centre in Budapest.
