Artificial intelligence is used to monitor the vital functions of preterm babies in a product line developed by the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB), coordinated by HUN-REN SZTAKI (Institute for Computer Science and Control). The resulting data may help ensure that babies receive treatment and support when their biorhythms indicate that it is most appropriate. Researchers also aim to develop an AI-based system that can determine the level of pain experienced by an infant based on the baby's facial expressions, back and arm tension.

The Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory and HUN-REN SZTAKI held a presentation at the Ecological Research Centre "Garden on the Cube - Is the Terminator not coming? - with human intelligence on artificial intelligence" at the Vácrátót Botanical Garden.

The textbook titled Text Mining and Artificial Intelligence in R, produced in the poltextLAB text mining research group of the HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences, presents the most important practical aspects of the application of quantitative text analysis methods in social sciences. The online version of the book is regularly updated by the authors Miklós Sebők, Orsolya Ring and Ákos Máté.

Researchers from the Hungarian Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB), Zsolt Bedőházi and András Biricz, have won the international "2024 Detecting Active Tuberculosis Bacilli Data Challenge" competition with their team NeuraBB. The contest aimed to develop algorithms capable of identifying pathogens in patient samples, thereby aiding in the diagnosis of active tuberculosis.

The meetup series launched by the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB) in the fall of 2023 continued. The regularly recurring event, held monthly in the afternoons, aims to provide opportunities for informal discussions and networking after several short presentations. The meetup places special emphasis on young researchers and students.

The topic of the discussion was whether we can live for a thousand years, and if so, whether we would want to, following Csaba Kerepesi's research on artificial intelligence (AI) in aging. The panel also included futurist Árpád Rab and AI advisor György Tilesch.

The importance of the education, research, development and use of artificial intelligence was highlighted at the 2024 April professional day organised by the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Pécs (Pécs University of Sciences). Researchers from HUN-REN SZTAKI, coordinator of MILAB, and project partner Semmelweis University not only took part in the run, but also collaborated in a scientific study to investigate the relationship between sport and biological age: participants were able to find out for themselves how old they are according to artificial intelligence.
